Whites showing up as pink, Help, please?

Selena

Hi, I've recently installed Windows XP by formatting the
harddisk that had Win98 installed, and used the full
version WinXP CD.

And for some reason, all the places taht are supposed to
be white are showing up as hot pink now, including the
edge of the windows borders, back of file manager, etc.

I checked the settings, but can't find any reason it
should be pink, and I made a screen capture opened it on
another computer, it looked perfectly normal, so I don't
think it's the colour theme setting.

Can someone please tell me what's wrong with the computer
and how to fix it? thanks

Here is a screen cap of what it looks like:

(like I said the screen cap looked perfectly normal, so I
used Photoshop to try to emulate what it looks like, it's
not 100% identical but close enough, I think)

Thanks!

Selena,

It sounds like you've got a loose cable connection, or
the resolution/color settings you chose aren't supported
by your monitor. Try lowering the settings and see if
that helps (ie True Color -> 16-bit, 1024x768 -> 800x600)
