I recently had a new hard drive installed & now everything seems "stretched"-
i.e. everything is a little too big or wide. For example, my yahoo 3-column
homepage no longer displays all columns at once. When I try to change font
size in display properties, it is marked "normal" and there is no smaller
option. Any suggestions?

Hi

Try this:

Right click on the Desktop and select Properties>Settings>Advanced. Make
sure that the drop down menu is set to 'Normal size (96 DPI)'.

Hi Sueu,

It sounds like your resolution has been changed. Go to:

[Start] > [Settings] > [Control Panel] > [Display]
{Settings} > (Resolution)

Set to desired resolution. Note that if you are using a laptop, with
the primary display selected, move the slider all of the way to the
right.

Help!

Right-click the Desktop|PROPERTIES|SETTINGS
Confirm that the resolution is correct. 1024X768 is usually satisfactory
for a 17" monitor

If centered is a problem, check the monitor's documentation and controls
There may also be centering adjustments available for the video adapter.
Click the ADVANCED tab, then look through the other available menus.

When I open my browser I get the full screen, but then when I click on
another screen I am only getting half the screen. Any idea, what's wrong?

IE remembers the last window that was opened.

This will have to be redone occasionally.

Open *one* instance of IE | Use the cursor (not the
maximize button) to drag the window to the desired
size | Click the Close [X] while holding down the
Ctrl key.
-----

When all else fails, paste the line below into Start | Run

javascript:window.open(screen.availWidth,screen.availHeight)

Note: then make sure the above window is the last one closed.

I am having somewhat of a different problem. I used a program today, and for
it to work properly, it has to change the display setting to 1024 x 768. I
have tried to use system restore, which has always worked in the past, but
said it couldn't restore to the day I tried to restore 2 (and I tried several
) I've tried changing the resolution ,and it does say it is back to the
smaller size 800x 600 ,and I guess that is where it is supposed to be, (I
tried going to other way and couldn't even see it then), so I'm at a quandry
as to what to try now. My screen is elongated and the screen doesn't even
fit the elongated size. HELP ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
