My screen shaver does not function even though I have set a time out in the
screen control panel. The screen shaver does not pop up at the fixed time. I
can do all the settings but it does not function! What to do?

â€I figured out what the problem is. It's the Microsoft Wireless Mouse. If I switch the mouse to
one with a tail the screensaver works.â€
then David posted again
â€I got a fix. I changed to connection to the computer using the USB to PS2 adapter that came with
the mouse. Now I get the screensaver. I would be interested to find out why this works.â€

Another checkpoint - make sure that a program is not causing the computer to remain active. You may
have a program running in the background that springs into life when the computer is idle.

Is the shave you get as good as a blade? <grin>

Thanks for all your good suggestions. Unfortunately I am not that much
technical minded so I can follow the links below. I have a question to you!
What do you or David mean by connecting to the computer using the USB to PS2
adapter? What is the latter and what is meant by PS2? I do got a wireless
Microsoft mouse and would be sorry to change it to a taled mouse!

Do you have anything serious to say in relation to having problems with the
screen shaver? I would very much like to hear a solution to my problem in
this connection.

Hi, there is the wireless mouse, the usb connected mouse and the PS2 connected mouse.
When I used a USB connected mouse, my screensaver doesn't come on unless I was in an application. By
using a PS2 connected mouse I don't have problems with the screensaver.

In your mouse software, under visibiity, you have the option of showing a trail.

Have you checked to make sure nothing else is running or scheduled to run when idle in the
background that could interfer with the screensaver.

No. Hell, I don't even know what a "screen shaver" is. <grin>
