Click Start >> Control Panel >> Doubel click User Accounts.
On the user accounts select the user you want to apply this to and uncheck
this check box:

[ ] Use welcome screen

Click [ Apply Options ] Button and you are out of the user accounts UI.
Reboot your machine, does it represent you with the WS?

Autologon for Windows v2.10- Bypass password screen during logon.

'When XP is started after the screensaver" is fairly obvious in its
meaning..

Yes, OP was unclear with: "When XP is started aftr the screen saver has been
on..." I took it as meaning, "When I go back to using XP from a
screensaver...", ie it *is* just for the screensaver.

Only Kate knows for sure what she was trying to achieve. Let's see if we
hear back....

I didn't mean to correct you but I thought your solution is the best for
her as I misunderstood her Question.
As it seems she after disbaling the Password after resuming from Screensaver
as Mike hall kindly Highlighted.

Thank you for helping me. I am sorry about the confusion. I was trying to say
after using the computer for a while then stopping whatever I was doing to
answer the phone or coffee break when I come back to the computer the screen
saver is on. When trying to resume I was getting a "I must enter a password
to restart". I followed the posted instructions and the password is now a
thing of the past. Thank You again for the help. This was starting to wear on
my last good nerve.
