Screen saver woes

I'm using the slide show screen saver. Yesterday it started crashing
when it starts. I get the '...has encountered a problem and must
close' dialog.

XP Pro has all the updates, I have the latest from SpyBot,
Malwarebytes, and Avast Free.

Previewing the screen saver works fine. I didn't find anything useful
with Google.

A reboot seems to have fixed it....

WindowsXP. It's an option on the Display Properties dialog.
