Maybe there's a setting for it saying "Randomly lock system up
requiring reboot"?
No seriously, check settings under it, see if there's a setting that
makes it use less resources or something. It could be hogging your
cpu or video processor.
If no settings appear obvious, get another screen saver.
Maybe it was packaged with malware. Various spyware / adware /
crapware gets packaged with stuff like screensavers. Check your
