my group just came off of a company LAN, and before we
left they had done something so that we cannot shut off
our screen savers. i assume it is some sort of registry
entry. does anyone know how i can change this annoying
setting?

What does that mean? The machines are now not in a Domain and are in
fact stand-alone (a Workgroup)?

If you are not connected to Domain anymore and have local
Administrative access, RUN... gpedit.msc
and look at
User config.\Admin. Templates\Control Panel\Display\
and see if one or more Policies regarding SS et al. are Enabled.
