Screen saver quit working

I recently bought a Dell Insprion 1500 with XP home edition, and for the
first couple of weeks the screen saver worked fine. For some reason it has
stopped working. I do not use a wireless mouse or keyboard. I have tried
several different types of screen savers (marque, 3-D pipes, etc) and none
work. It DOES work when I do a preview though. Any thoughts?

Check what the time delay is set at. It is on the screen saver tab in the
wait text box.
 
I have tried several different time settings, from 1 to 15 minutes.
 
It sounds like the you have not had the computer very long. Did the problem
start with the installation of any new hardware or software. If so, this
could cause a problem. If not, I would contact dell for support.
