Screen saver issue

Sherry

I have a user with Windows 2000, she does not have her
screen saver enabled. But when she is working in any of
her applications, and her PC is not idle, a screen saver
pops up. What would make that happen. I checked her
screen saver, it is not set up to be used, it has none
selected.???????? Thanks...

Could be that the "Energy Star" screen blanker is set up to come on (a
good thing). Or it could be that a third-party screen saving tool is
running, or that the video or monitor driver has a screen saver built
in.

Hi Sherry,

1. are you in an environment that has policies applied from a main office
server?
2. are you running desktop themes?
3. are there any screen savers that are running other than the black screen?
4. what brand or model is your video card?

Please respond when you can.

Hi Dan,

In control panel, we can go to the "power options" settings and for testing
we can set every entry
to "never". This will eliminate any possibility for intervention of control
from this other source.

Please try this and get back to me...

Thanks again
