Unwanted startups

My daughter is running window2000. Sometimes when she is
not online the computer will startup AOL and log on by
itself. This happened when there was no activity on her
computer and the computer was idle with just the screen
saver being displayed.

This could be caused by any app that has been set to auto update eg AV
software, email etc
Check yr dial up settings for AOL, to prevent auto logon
Better still check AOL help, as AOL is a law unto itself
