I am running a network with 500 XP Pro PCs. We run management software which
builds the systems to a screen resolution of 800x600. I would like to change
the resolution of all of the machines to 1024x768. Does anyone know of a
script I could run to do this or if I could merge a registry fragment for the
new resolution. Alternatively, does anyone know of another method to
accomplish this change site wide

I don't think it can be done with group policy. You would need a 3rd party
app to run from a script. This one might work. I haven't tested it
personally. Just got it from doing a google search for "script set screen
resolution"
