Screen Resolution Randomly Changes

As of late, i have noticed something strange happening to
my computer. If i turn it off, when i turn it back on
the screen resolution changes from 1152x864 (where i
normally have it set) to 1024x768. So then i have to
change it back every time i turn on my computer. As far
as i can remember, the only things i have added are
webshots desktop software (www.webshots.com) but i had it
a while before this problem showed up, and i also
disabled Wireless Zero Configuration (Microsoft Knowledge
Base Article - 821400
<http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;821400&Product=winxp>). I think that is all that has
been changed recently. I am running win xp home. What
can i do to fix this?

Start with removing webshots. Perhaps, it was triggered by a choice made
within.

will do, but like i said, i had webshots for a while
before the problem first happened. i will give it a shot

okay, so thanks for that, but i uninstalled webshots and
it still does the same thing. I noticed that somebody
else asked a question like mine (he said his resolution
resets everytime he logs off and on to 1024x768).
Someone told him to update his video drivers, so i think
i will give that a go, but i have had this same computer
for a couple of years now and this is the first that the
problem has occurred, so does anyone have any other ideas
as to what might be doing this?

sorry about this, but i just remembered something i
wanted to add. I have noticed that if i turnmy computer
off and then back on fairly soon, like within an hour,
the resolution doesn't change. However, if i turn it off
one night and dont turn it back on untill the next then
the resolution changes. This strikes me as a bit odd,
but it is what has been happening
