Screen Resolution Changes

I am running Windows XP Home edition, my screen resolution is set to 1920 by
1200. If I play a game at a lower resolution, exit the game, hibernate or
suspend my system, when I restore my system the screen resolution changed to
the previous game resolution, screwing up my desktop. What can I do to
prevent this changes?

I prefer not to turn my system off.

Reinstall/update the graphic card driver.Visit the manufacturer's
website to download and install the latest driver.
