Resolution resetting at restart

I'm having a problem with my screen resolution resetting every time I restart
the computer. Basically for most resolutions it's fine - I select them under
Display Properties and they're the one that loads up when I restart. However,
whenever I set the resolution to 1920 by 1200 (the recommended for my
monitor) and restart, it reverts back to 1600 by 1200. Strangely, when I then
open Display Properties, the resolution is still incorrectly listed as 1920
by 1200. Any advice on this would be appreciated.

Oh, I'm using all the latest drivers for my graphics card (and pretty much
everything else - my system's pretty well maintained). I've included some
basic specs below in case that's relevant...

Windows XP SP2.
DirectX 9.0c.
Pentium IV 3.2GHz EE.
2GB RAM.
ATI Radeon X850 256MB.
Creative Audigy 2 ZS.
