Screen resolution is much too light

I just received my new Gateway notebook computer, but I
can hardly read what is on the screen everything is so
faded, even the colors. Could someone please tell me what
to do. I am absolutely computer ignorant. Thanks.

Did you get an instruction manual or booklet with it ?

Check your Gateway doc/support - there's probably a keyboard combo you can
use to lower the brightness.
