Screen Resolution has changed.

I recently played a game on Facebook and now when i open my web browser it
doesn't use all the screen, there in a 1 inch blank strip on either side of
the webpage. The screen resolution is the same as before, I usually have it
on 1280 x 960 but since playing this game on Facebook I have these blank
strips on either side of webpages now.

Please help

Which browser? IE7, IE8, Firefox, or what? You can still maximize it and
it fills the whole screen, right?
 
It happens with IE8 and Firefox.

I can maximise but the webpage doesn't fill the whole screen.
