Screen Resolution Changes Automatically

Does anyone know what could cause the screen resolution
to change automatically after the login password is
entered?

There is no consistent pattern as far as when it does
this and out IT Dept. cannot solve the issue. I have
scanned for viruses and loaded service pack 2, but the
problem is still there. Are there any "auto" settings or
startup scripts that could be running in XP that control
the resolution on startup?

Jose,
I have had the same problem since the day I brought my HP pavilion home. I
cannot even change the resolution because accessing the settings menu brings
up an error message which I have not been able to resolve. I am downloading
SP2 now, but am doubtful. Please let me know what you find out.

Hi Denese,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunantly, I do not know
anyhting new. This issue with the resolution may be a
conflict with a driver or software? I'm thinking of re-
imaging my system, but I would hate to do that and not
know what the problem was.

If I find out anything I will let you know.
