screen is split 1/3 2/3

My screen is split. the top 1/3 of the window is on the bottom and the bottom
2/3 is on top. Could someone help me solve this please? I have told the video
card to restore defaults and tried to move the screen up and down but it will
not move that much. The computer was on and it happened overnight. Woke to
find this problem.

I've never heard of this happening before, but it sounds to me like that
it's likely to be a hardware problme with your monitor. The way to check it
is to try the monitor on a friend's machine or try his monitor on yours.

Thanks for your quick response. I changed the resolution then let it revert.
Problem solved. Dont know what could have made this happen on its own.

I don't have the foggiest idea. As I said, I've never seen or heard of this
happening before.
