Screen goes inactive

I have Windows XP. My problem is that no matter what program I'm working in,
the screen goes "inactive" at random intervals. I'll be typing along, and
suddenly, the screen seems to time out and I can't resume my work until I
click back on the screen or on the program in the taskbar (which unhighlights
itself when the screen goes inactive). Any ideas on what's going on, and how
I can fix this?

Seems like a bad screen saver, or Power Options system
To repair all system files, go to Start/Run, and type (or paste in): SFC /SCANNOW (see: Description of Windows XP and Windows Server
