Intermittent screen saver

During periods of inactivity my screen saver kicks in just fine, however
after a short period of time (not really sure how long), it goes back to
displaying my desktop, then after another period of time goes back into
screen saver mode. This toggling between screen saver and desktop continues
throughout the day. I have tried changing themes but that doesn't help.
What do I have to do to keep the screen saver active during inactive times.

Thanks,
Larry

Long shot - but is the table the computer is on getting any vibration
from anywhere? Or is someone accidentally bumping the table? Any
accidental movement of the mouse, even if very slight, might turn off
screen saver.

Good point.
I use an optical mouse, and can sit back and watch the led kick on and off
as the mouse is vibrated from the airflow generated by a nearby fan :)

Larry, are you still having the same problem? I'm experiencing the sam
also. I did think it might have been windows messenger running in th
background so stopped that running but problem still exists, though no
as frequent.

Did see another thread where the user was using a wireless mouse, as
do, but changed from usb connection to ps2.

If you've managed to crack the problem would be grateful to learn how.

Thanks & regards Joh
