Screen Flickers

I am using Windows XP Pro Sp1a with all the updates from Windows Update.

Periodically, the screen flickers and just before it will stop responding
momentarily.

I have an AMD Athlon XP 2000+ on a VIA chipset and an NVidia Vanta 16MB
graphics card (4x AGP) - drivers from Windows Update.

Can anyone think why this is happening and/or how I can stop it.

I Dont know if this is it ir not but your video card

seems outdated

Outdated maybe but one thing is for sure, if you use the
drivers from Windows update to run it you are bound to
have problems. Use the Nvidia drivers.
