Screen broken - change screen size?

i have broken about an inch of the right hand side of my laptop screen.

it is a fujitsu siemans amilo using vista basic...

was wondering if there is any way of setting the screen to ignore that inch so all my screen can be seen?

If you still get windows showing on the screen you could just shrink the window size manualy . Open a window , click on maximise at the top left and then just drag the window to the size you want .
