Is there a website that if you have a keycode where you could download a
backup copy of your OS? I have to reinstall my OS but cannot because i have
a tiny little scratch and keep getting a cyclic redundancy check error and my
OS will not install. I have the CD and the Key Code and would like to get a
copy if possible

If it is a retail version of XP and not an OEM one you can use any CD, say
from a friend to reinstall your operating system so long as you use your
keycode.

Sometimes when I copy movies I will get a CRC error, about half of the time
if I wash the CD/DVD with a liquid soap and rinse it in "cold" water I find
the cold rinse will
constrict minor cracks enough that the error is gone. What will it hurt to
try it?
