Scheduled Tasks

My scheduled tasks ran until a few weeks ago. I've been trying to figure it
out but to no avail. I have Win XP Home Edition. I've checked to be certain
all is set correctly on all of my tasks. I get the following msg on all:
"General page initialization failed. The specific error is: Ox80090016:
Keyset does not exist. An error has occurred attempting to retrieve task
account information. You may continue editing the task object, but will be
unable to change task account information." I understand Win 2000 has this
problem. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

The site you referred me to said the info only applied to Windows 2000.
Since I'm a novice when it comes to this "stuff" should I try this even
though I have XP?

Maggie,
Try this first.
To check the settings for the service:
1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Administrative
Tools.
2. Click Computer Management.
3. Expand Services and Applications, and then click Services.
4. Right-click the Task Scheduler service, and then click Properties.
5. On the General tab, make sure that the startup type is set to automatic,
and that the service status is Started. If the service is not running, click
Start.
6. On the Log On tab, make sure that the local system account is selected,
and that the Allow service to interact with desktop check box has a check
mark.
7. Click OK, and then quit Computer Management.

Thanks Marv. I tried all and everything was in order. So I guess I'll try
to do what you suggested prior even though the link says it applies only to
win 2000.
