Scheduled tasks in XP when logged off?

Does someone know how to have XP run it's scheduled tasks when the
machine is logged off sitting on the login screen? I have read
numerous posts, including the Kelly's corner fix of deleting the
scheduled task log, however this nor any other seemed to remedy it.
We are going nuts trying to figure this out. Win2k seems to
accomplish this no problem. Arggggh.

I do not think that this is technically possible because you have to
specify an user account for to run the task.

I am not using a blank password...I input both a user and a password
when I created the tasks...They should use the user and password and
logon to start the task just like it does in win2k..Works perfectly,
just not in XP...Something is amiss
