My Scheduled Task Wizard hangs when I click Next. I am running XP Home SP2
with all updates.

The Task Scheduler needs a password for it to work. Have you
password-protected your Account? If not, please have look at the following

I'm afraid that didn't work - but the Task Scheduler never needed a password
before!
