scheduled scans with windows defender

will a 'scheduled scan' work if my cpu is in standby? some programs can
'wake up' my cpu for scheduled activity, some can't, and i couldn't find any
info in the help section on this.... anyone have an answer?

From the XP side of things you could set a scheduled task to do it. If
you are asking about windows defender itself, perhaps ask in the group
for it here.
