Scheduling ESET scans

J

Jeff Barnett

I recently upgraded to ESET NOD32 version 3 and am having a problem. I
am hoping that some one out there has found a solution. (Before asking
here, I have tried ESET support but I think that they are not informed
about their products.) What I want to do is schedule an in-depth scan
during off hours. Please note that my computer is in S3 suspend state
during off hours. The ESET scheduler is incompetent to wake a sleeping
computer. Therefore, I wrote a BAT to run the scan. The BAT wakes the
computer, runs the scan, and allows the computer to reenter S3.
Unfortunately, there is no way to stash the log of that scan where ESET
tools can access and display it. The BAT is scheduled under an
administrative account but I normal work under a limited account, hence
the desire to be able to access the log through ESET tools.

Has anyone of you solved this problem using either the XP (Pro SP2 using
simple file sharing and welcome screen) or ESET scheduler? If so, please
share.

PS There was no problem using version 2.7 - I will roll back if I cannot
find a solution to this problem.

Thank you for (not?) answering my question! Do you know anything about
my scheduling problem? The urls you gave are mute on it.

He's telling you ask in the forums for NOD32, which are hosted by Wilders
Security. Did you do that?

Please begin a new thread in the appropriate forum there.
You seem to not realize that I'm asking a scheduling question that cuts
across XP and NOD32 concerns. The answer might involve an XP trick or an
ESET trick. If I knew which, I would not have asked the question in the
first place. It seems that you want to spend the bandwidth of two
messages (with my cooperation) to show that you don't know either. Why
in earth did you feel compelled to respond at all??????

Actually, he gave two specific url pointers, neither of which addressed
the question I asked. If he had said that there was a forum for this
question, I would surely have said thank you but I've already looked
there. By the way, my question was asked in that forum (but not at the
indicated urls) and it wasn't answered there either. I mistakenly
thought that some XP guru or another might have figured out a way around
a NOD32 glitch using an XP mechanism. So far, the answer is no.
