According to my Event Vierwer, I had the following error when I exited
Internet Explorer 6 (I've edited out the Computer description line).
Event Type: Information
Event Source: Application Popup
Event Category: None
Event ID: 26
Date: 10/02/2005
Time: 23:48:19
User: N/A
Description:
Application popup: iexplore.exe - Application Error : The instruction at
"0x01ce9883" referenced memory at "0x01ce9883". The memory could not be
"read".
I followed the link that was included at the bottom of the error message
(not shown above), and maybe some more links - I don't recall - and the
nearest I could get to finding out what it might be, was that it was
something to do with, either privileges (but there's only me on here, and I
have all the admin. rights), or a missing/corrupt driver for Internet
Explorer (which I thought was part of the operating system and therefore
would have been sorted out after the sfc /scannow I did the other day).
PLEASE, can anyone advise me on this. I have some corrupt files on my hard
disk - that happened a few weeks ago - and I was about to start reinstalling
things when this happened. Anyway, I thought the system files might be ok
after I did an sfc /scannow the other day.
