M

Metalguy834

I recently had a usb game controller fail on me, and when it did all of my
usb ports quit working.
an error message popped up that said that all the data in a peticular file
was lost, I uninstalled the usb drivers and reinstalled them to no effect.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thank you.

Youre pc has a hd problem which has/had caused the USB problem(s).
At this point, maybe download the MS-DOS hd utility from the hd mfg web
& see if its corupted.Also/or boot to xp cd,recovery,type:CHKDSK C: /R
If other partitions are on the drive then run repair as well. Also, the boards
chipset utility gives the USB drivers to xp,get that from chipset mfg
(intel,amd
etc).
