Error event 11 - HD controller error

My system appears to be working OK but I notice some occurrences of this
error in Event Log/Sytem over the last few days; latest copied below. How
worried should I be? How to diagnose the problem?

Thats simple enough,youre hd is failing,be prepared for more or worse
events.Also,simply purchase new hd,for now,one can get by,boot to xp cd,
tap r at xp boot menu,Type:1 For C: Press enter key for password,type:
CHKDSK C: /R Type:EXIT When thru.XP will attempt to repair the hd (bad
sectors),it may work for a few weeks or so..
