how to find the source of the problem?
this is a new XP pro sp3 install on intel pr31dg intel core 2 quad 4GB of
Ram, (seeing only 3 GB of course), evga gf8500
with office 2k prem updated to 2k3 and myob

this does not look like other mrxsmb error I have seen

I guess I look at the switch and the PC's Nic. The Nic and the switch are
supposedly be auto speed with capability for GHz instead of 100Mhz

the culprit is highly unlikely to be security software as the same security
software was used on another similar pc with less Ram with the same switch
in the same network

next step I guess after the switch and nic setting will be the drive I
installed the drive from the Intel DVD. I may have to look at windows update

This problem often seems to arise with anti-virus software. What do you
have installed?

What Network Card is installed?
