Scanning / Pagefile.sys Issue

Hi
I have a problem with my Canon Lide 30 scanner , its started to scan
VERY slow , before the performance was OK
I cant understand why , I have tried it on another PC and its fine so
its not the scanner,
It seems that it is not using virtual memory/ pagefile as it does not
seem to be writing anything to disc while scanning The PC is a P4 3.0
ghz with 1mb ram
I have reset the pagefile , even set this to the max or min has no
effect on the scanner , its like something is turned off and the
scanner is not able to use the pagefile or system memory ,
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the twain drivers but with no luck,
Any help would be appreicated

Have you loaded the canon software....You need to do this when the "found
new hardware" wizard starts, and leave its window running before you close
it out..As for pagefile,in system properties, set all hds to "let system
manage"
then click set 2X,close out properties.

Done this but still no luck , must be something to do with the twain
driver , have un-installed and reloaded the driver , even used canon
un-install software from there web site

Whats the fragmentation on your hard disk like? Run a disk defragmenter.
Also do a search of your PC for *.tmp files and delete them. Its likely a
few will be active and give a cannot delete message, which is fine.

After stuffing two 512 MB memory modules as replacement for the two
256 MBs,
a)I set memory dump to 64k pagefile to 0 which on reboot is visible in that
c:pagefile.sys (1 Gig+) is gone. This is an Mce2005 box. I have no troble
with canon scan or dungeon siege 2.
b) In scanner install, you don't want scanner to be plugged in. If you did,
uninstall & reinstall.
c) try sfc /purgecache at command prompt

Good luck, if noting else, this will let you know that it is not the pagefile.

I had already deleted all Temp files and run defragmenter before, but it
made no difference

Thanks
