Scanning direct to email

To All,
I am setting up an office about 300 mile away from my home office. I
need a scanner that will scan an invoice then will email it directly
from the scanner to my new office email address. Simple enough idea
but I am having lots of trouble finding a scanner that will do this.
Though I am told that they do exist

Does anyone know of a scanner that will do what I need?

One of the problems that I am having is that scanning then saving the
document, then writing an email letter then attaching the invoice
takes so much time then I might as well enter the invoice myself.

Or does anyone have a better idea?

knowledgeable and I have derived a lot of good information from the

there is this thing called "FAX" that scans and immediately sends via
phone line to a distant location. many scanner softwares can do this.

don't bother replying to (e-mail address removed)
or even (e-mail address removed)
just reply to the newsgroup and i will catch it there

Does anyone know of a scanner that will do what I need?Don't pay attention to the clown who tooted "fax". You asked to go scan
direct to email. Any number of consumer grade flatbeds have this feature
in their bundled software packages; you just haven't been able to
websearch this feature? Or just starting to think about the routing, and
so quick poll the newsgroup? The Epson Smart Panel bundled in the F3200,
2480, 2580, and their successors in the Perfection line are capable and
rather straightforward. It supports the usual OE, Eudora,
NetscapeMessenger in Windows, others in MAC 9 and 10.x

Theo,

I have been reading the information on several manufacturers wb pages
about their scanners. Scanning direct to Emailin hasn't been a feature
that has been discussed in detail in their descriptions of their
scanners. I was in contact with HP on Friday and they told me that
except for their 8200 line of scanners their scanners will do what I
want.
