this is my first time using a newsgroup (so be patient :). i have been
recvg unwanted bogus e mails that say they are from microsoft. been getting
them for about 1 1/2 wks now some have attachments some dont. i have been
deleting them and a virus was found in two that i checked. i had read the
security update on these being sent, but is there any way to blck them? in
the last 2 days i have recvd approx 14 of them. all addr a little
different, the sender is usually not the same all the time but will be close
to the same names. here are some examples,(i will list who from/subject)
first one: admin/failure. #2. internet system/no subject/ #3.
(e-mail address removed)/virus warning.#4. microsoft network email
deliv/no subject. #5.microsoft public service/newest network critical patch
(it has a attachment with it). i hope im in the correct area for asking
this. i havent had my computer that long so was unsure. if anyone can help i
appreciate it. thanks.

Many people are getting the emails at the moment, just keep deleting and/or
blocking. If it gets too much try installing Mailwasher:
http://www.mailwasher.net/
It's free and I have installed it on a friend's computer who was getting
over 200 spam emails a day.
If you just want to set up blocks - in Help in Outlook Express type "Block
Sender" without the quotes and you will find out how to do it.

May want to try blocking on words in the Subject line instead blocking by
sender.
