have just installed my old scanner (Snapscan 1212u) on to a friends
computer and I get a message A Communication Problem Occurred. Open log file
to find out more. Can anyone tell me where I find the log file. I havent got
the original installation cd so I downloaded the drivers from the Agfa driver
site. This scanner is connected to the USB port of the computer via a USB
cable
Any help I would be greatful for Thank you

Does the Scanner show up in Device Manager?? If yes, and there's a
yellow mark next to it then you have to reinstall
the software and drivers for it. First, uninstall the scanner
software from Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.
Restart and reinstall the software. Do not connect the scanner until
the software install tells you to do so. I would do this
anyway to give you a fresh start.
