scanner problem

Epson 1250 running XP Home. After scanning to email (either thru one-button,
or thru Smart Panel) when it gets to the end it says it cannot find the
email program. I am using OE 5 and it is selected as the default email
program in INTERNET CONNECTIONS/PROGRAMS. What can I do to fix this?
