scanner/camera wizard

Have they ever found a fix for when the Scanner/Camera wizard suddenly
stops working- have installed nothing new - I have to use the SanDisk
reader since XP doesn;t recognize the 64mb flash card that my HP 315
photosmart camera has,- I have not changed anything - it had always
worked until here recently, any clues as to how to fix this

I use the card reader, it is the wizard that will no longer open , have
tried going into regedit, they are set correctly and using Tweak UI, nothing
seems to make it open with the wizard, it did until this past weekend, have
not made any changes, haven't a clue, tried all the suggestions I could find
but nothing has worked

Try this: with your card reader plugged in, go to Start > Run >
diskmgmt.msc
go to actions and tell it to re-examine the disks again.

I tried your suggestion Roger, but didn't see re-examine listed just
clicked on refresh, but it made no difference, this problem seems to have
happened to a lot of folks, some have found cures, but nothing has worked or
me so far and I think I have just about tried them all, other than
reinstall, not that desperate yet

Have had the same problem with all three of my XP Home Edition comptuers. It worked, then stopped working. I got it back once on one of my computers by deleting the device and letting XP find it again... but alas, lost again later. I know that a Windows update can bloe it out. Very frustrating and very little info from MS.

Cannot load pictures from casio exlim . xp recognizes the camera but in my pictures there is no option to get pictures . Why....
Also I cannot find the scanner camera wizard in the tool box or from the start menu......why???????

This behavior indicates that your camera is not meant to be recognized by XP
as a mass storage device, thus you must use the software that came with the
camera to retrieve the pictures from the camera. I have an Olympus camera,
and when I attach it via USB, it appears as a removable drive. I can move
files to and from the camera using Windows Explorer. The camera must be
designed to operate this way; unfortunately your Casio cannot.
