scanner and camera wizard problem

i cannot get the scanner and camera wizrd to work with my
sony digital camera. when it is plugged in and on i can
access the pictures by exploring through "my computer"
where it is listed as sony memory stick f:

when i try to start the scanner and camera wizard i get
an ewrror message that the device is not detected and to
make sure it is connected and on.

If it is on a USB port, then try it in another USB port.
