scandisk error

when i try to scandisk it will not. I get a messege every
time sayin "scandisk has been cancelled"

Windows XP uses "Checkdisk" and not "Scandisk" used in previous versions of Windows.
The Checkdisk function will begin when you restart your computer:

There is no scandisk in Windows XP; it has been replaced by chkdsk. What
version of Windows are you using? We will direct you to the correct
newsgroup.

i also get this error for windows xp. It says Scandisk cancelled. Its
buggin me to.
