I try this I am told I can't do this I need to restart to
carry out task, if I check the sceduled tasks nothing
shows up. also every time I start my PC from cold or do a
restart, I get error message to say need to run scandisk

Hello Mike,

You must run chkdsk /f as you have structural errors on
your HDD. I get them all of the time.
- Simply open up a command window and type d: (enter key)
and type chkdsk<space>/f

Sometimes you have to log off and it will do it while it
is booting up. Other times it will dismount the HDD and
do it within a windows session.

Don't worry about scheduled tasks, that has nothing to do
with your HDD structural errors.

Please do it for the C: Hdd also.

If you would like to correspond further, I have created a
temp email address for you to contact me at:
