Scan to E Mail

OK I changed my E Mail from Outlook Express to Microsoft Outlook - I use an
Epson Perfection 1260 Photo Scanner to scan an E Mail ( text item & picture
seperately) Once I had scanned the items I did not have the choice of using
Microsoft Outlook - I then had to go to Settings to add Microsoft Outlook -
click browse - selext Outlook & register it -that's when the message came up
- The application may be unable to open the image files. You can insert the
images into your document or import them from within the application. Do you
want to save the scanned images as files then launch the application? This
message did come up with Outlook Express the items were processed normally. I
hope this is a little easier to understand.

If you mean scan and email the scanned image, I would guess this is an
option supported, or otherwise, by your scanner software.
You do have OL set as default email app in Internet Options?

I set up Microsoft Outlook as my default E Mail with my ISP but managed to
contact Microsoft who advised that the program was set up this way where you
have to save the item/items to a file ie My Documents .... due to the
Security part of the program.

I think they are full of it - my scanner sends the images direct to email
without complaining. It almost sounds like its a configuration problem - did
you check the options for the scanner? Re-reading it, it sounds like you
configured the images to open in outlook - that is incorrect. You just want
to configure outlook as the email client of choice for the scanner software.

The info re saving first is incorrect, the scanning process, *if supported
by your scanner* send the scan directly to your mail application. ie it
creates a new msg with the scanned image as an attachment.
If OL is closed this msg is not sent untill OL is opened

OL is setup as my default E Mail account - it has also been suggested that I
remove the scanner software and reload - would this possibly help?

It might do, assuming the scanner is a usb type, ensure you read
uninstall/install instructions carefully and follow them explicitly
