Scan freezes at Nortons

The scan seems almost finished but then freezes once it
scans Program Files/Nortons. My whole computer freezes.
I have restarted several times and it still happens. ANy
suggestions?
 
Boot into Safe Mode (F8) at startup;
Empty your temporary files AND your Temporary Internet
Files C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local
Settings\Temporary Internet Files folder ; Run the scan
while in safe mode.

Run a full system scan
