Trying to install DSL. The tech tells me that who ever
built my computer used bad or the wrong Networking
software for my system. My computer doesn't have an IP
in it(?) Can anyone help or has anyone heard of this?

TCP/IP can be loaded (or unloaded). Installation ease depends upon the OS.

What operating system does your computer run? Has it previously been used to
access the internet, perhaps dial-up?
