SB Audigy problem

I was trying to install a Logitech Webcam on my PC and somehow screwed up my
sound Blaster Audigy drivers.
I have tried for 2 days to remove all the SB bits including application and
drivers. I also used the msconfig utility that Creative suggests but I can't
remove the WDM Driver. As a result I can't get the card to work. I think the
major problem is that I have XP SP2 and my SB installation CD is for XP only
which was on the PC originally. There is a set of new drivers for SP2 on
their website but they will not write over the corruped driver.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

have you tried to the restore, and restore to a point prior to the
installation? or have you tried to reboot with the f8 option and selected
boot with last known good configuration? have you gone into safe mode, so
that all your drivers will be incapcitated and manually removed/uninstalled?
both restore and device management options are avail through safe mode.
before you go to safe mode, i would temp remvoe the sound card. after
rebooting to normal mode, you may have the ability to reinstall the
items...... i would install the cam & drivers first. then shut down and
install the sound card. it may be that you won't need the sb installation
disk as ms will recognize and configure your sound card......

I have tried everything but the idea of installing the webcam first. I will
give that a try. Restore would not recognize that a change had been made to
the system so would not come up with a new config.

Thanks
