Nope. Moving back to XP is moving back to what is now an ancient operating
system. Move on up to Ubuntu and run a modern operating system that works.
You'll discover stability, security, configurability and 20,000 free
software packages to boot.

All Linux distros run 6 months to a year behind the current version of
Windows in being able to use the latest hardware. Maybe, its the fact
that too much development is going on in people's garages.

Come to think of it, the most development doesn't go on in Linux at all.
The most effort gets put into desktops like KDE and Gnome, where they
try to make it look almost as good as Windows.

And before you try to say I don't know what I'm talking about, I used
Linux for 4 years (Mandrake 7, 8, 9 and 10). I got tired of the fact
that if you are not the lead dog, the view never changes.

Or maybe it's the fact that too many hardware manufacturers don't make Linux
drivers and force linux developers to do that on their own.

Almost as good? I for one think Vista is not really all that great looking.
Definitely not my choice for a user interface. But I am also one of those
people who value functionality in an UI over Eyecandy, especially when the
eyecandy is not to my taste.

Download the 7.04 LiveCD iso. Burn the image to a CD. Boot you're computer
with it and then at the desktop, click the Install icon. Simple. Anyone can
do it, except for Dr. Frank, but that's another long story.

Love and Kisses,
Doris

Where's the joke? Ubuntu really IS easy to install. And usability has very
much improved over the past couple of years as well. No, it doesn't hold
your hand and treat you like you're an idiot like Windows does, but it is
still very usable to people who have just average computer knowledge.

Hmmm..
the average computer knowledge is a supermarket checkout,
a CD player or a digital watch..
