is it possible to save user settings to a disk so that it
may be uploaded to another computer?

To copy an existing user profile:
Right-click My Computer
Click Properties
Click the Advanced tab
Click Settings under User Profiles
Click the profile that you want to copy
Click [Copy To]
Type the path to the target user's profile folder
Example:
\\ServerName\ShareName\UsersProfileDirectory
-or-
Click [Browse]
Select the destination user profile folder
Click [OK]
Click [Change]
Type the name of the user for this profile
Click [OK]

Do not copy users or groups from a Microsoft Windows NT-
based domain, because Windows 2000/XP are designed to use
Active Directory to select domains.
In the Copy To dialog box, click [OK]
If you receive a "Confirm Copy" message, click [Yes]
Click [OK]
Click [OK]
