saving to worksheet 3

I am new to Excel. I have my names and addresses in Worksheet 1. Now I
want to choose several of those to go onto Worksheet 3. I have highlighted
those names, copied, and pasted to Worksheet 3. But for some reason they
don't stay there. The next time I look they are gone. It's blank. What am
I doing wrong? TIA

Of course, you did save the workbook afterwards.

After the copy and paste do you see the names and addresses on Sheet3 before
you close the workbook?

Do you then save the workbook(file) via File>Save?

Do you have two copies of the workbook(file) and are opening the wrong one?
