Hi, we recently bought a new computer that has Windows Vista. The trouble is
with our Sims games. We downloaded Sims Unleashed, and there were alot of
problems. eg. not able to access new towns, not able to invent new families,
and move the family to new houses. It also can't save information.,
Does anyone know of a solution ??

Regards,

Lyn.

You should set compatibility to Windows XP and set the game to Run as
administrator, that should fix some of the issues you are having.

The download version of Unleashed wasn't tested in Vista (I was there), well
it was tested in Beta RC1, but not extensively. Might want to go to
http://support.ea.com and seek some assistance, your save game folder is
probably corrupted. happens. You might try making a new neighborhood in Sims
(from scratch, don't click on an existing neighborhood) place and empty lot,
start a family, move them in, etc. See if that fixes the problem.

Save file for The Sims 2 is pretty complicated. Most people recommend
backing up your save game folder after each place session.

If you can't get it going, there's a couple "evil" options.

One is "delete" The Sims 2 save folder. (You can usually find it in your
User Folder under My Documents\EA Games), or just REANAME the Sims 2 Saved
Games folder to something like "Sims 2 Saved Games.bak".

Run the game again, this will force Sims 2 to load the default save game
data (game takes longer to load than normal, just be patient).

Problem is you loose all your saved games, good news is the game should
start functioning normally.

If loosing your data is not an option go to support.ea.com and find their
support phone number.
