Saving position of Desktop icons

Can someone tell me how to save the position of my (carefully arranged,
by me) Desktop icons? In other words, if they became scrambled, as
happens if Safe Mode is used, I could later easily restore them.

Thanks - Ken

Not sure how to do that myself. However I have taken to doing a
SCREENPRINT of my desktop once a week so I can always have a reference
to how it was set up before I have to go the safe mode route.

Thanks, Bobb. That's a fall-back if no other solution presents itself
here. On the Web, there's some talk of a downloadable tool to handle
this business of Desktop icons, but the tool was designed for Windows 95
and Windows 98, and I couldn't see a version that was unambiguously
suited to XP (and gettable, for that matter).
